Samuel's Sanctuary - Maya Mountains Jungle, Central Belize
Their ministry is committed to reaching children of Central Belize by walking alongside them in four intentional stages: Engaging, Equipping, Employing and Empowering.

Meet the Missionaries
Meet Dino and Melissa Roseland! In 1980 Dino and Melissa got married, and the Lord began to set the foundation for this ministry. In 1989, they went to Mexico and were trained as Jesus Film Project Associates for Campus Crusade. Shortly after they had a vision of establishing a Ministry Training Center in Mexico. This vision was embraced by the church and in 1993 training and discipleship began – this led the group to attend Rio Grande Bible Institute Spanish Missionary Language School in 1994.
In 1996, they faced medical troubles as a family, ultimately bringing them back to the US. They thought that that mission was over, but God. In 2010 they discovered that Melissa and their daughter Rebekah had Lyme Disease, they discovered that the drastic climate changes affected them greatly.
Over the course of time, God opened the door for Melissa and Rebekah to go stay with a friend in Belize. The environment was healing for them! They now see that God used their disease to renew and revise the vision for a Ministry Outreach Center, but now in Belize.
In June of 2011, they moved to Belize as a family, and Samuel’s Sanctuary was born! The Sanctuary is an 18.5+ acres farm with goats, chickens and facilities to host staff, teams and other ministry opportunities. In May 2014, God also provided a 45 acre dairy farm, now called The Country Barn, with a storefront that serves almost 4,000 people from around the world each month.
What We Do - Life Discipleship
We exist to glorify God by fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
We are committed to reaching children of Central Belize by walking alongside them in four intentional stages. Our 4E approach includes: Engaging, Equipping, Employing and Empowering.
Engage: Age 3-14
We recognize how vital it is to engage minds while they’re young. Our hope is that education guides each child in Central Belize towards a path of career success.
Equip: Age 14-18
As children wade into these crucial years of life decisions, we walk alongside them. Our time is anchored in daily Bible studies, where we both display and discuss how the truths of Scripture play out in day-to-day life.
Employ: Age 18-24
As Paul writes to the Colossians, we are to do all things to God’s glory, including work (3:17). This time of employment is another opportunity to bring up gospel conversations daily.
Empower: Age 24+
Our hope is that each man enters this fourth stage with the foundation necessary to lead and love a family in a God-honoring manner.
