Meet the Missionaries
Meet Mario and Suzanne Babarczy! In 1987, they embarked on a journey that would impact nations. In the early years of their ministry, they saw that they had a love for teaching the local children and organizing educational events. After 5 years of mission work in New England, they felt a clear calling over their lives: to take this vision to the nations.
In 1993, they moved their young family to open the first international base of Hearts In Action in Guatemala. Their innovative approach to children’s ministry and value-based education quickly gain recognition – opening doors to hundreds of schools and training thousands of teachers.
In 1999, God led them to establish their main campus in the heart of Maya Biosphere in Petén, Guatemala. This remote jungle location became more than just a base—it became a symbol of Hearts in Action’s commitment to reaching the most underserved communities with transformative education and spiritual formation.
How We Work
We operate at the intersection of education and faith, developing innovative programs that reach children where they are—in schools, communities, and churches. Our approach combines:
Character Development
Through programs like FestiValores, we partner with educational institutions to build strong moral foundations and biblical values in students. This proven curriculum transforms not just individuals, but entire school communities.
Leadership Training
We equip teachers, ministers, and youth workers with the tools and spiritual foundation they need to effectively reach young people. Our intensive training programs create a ripple effect, empowering leaders who will impact thousands.
Community Transformation
From mobile libraries in remote villages to child protection initiatives in urban areas, our programs strengthen communities by investing in their youngest members. We create sustainable change by involving parents, teachers, and local leaders in the development process.
